After the breakfast (this time without Marmite) we drove to Keith to visit the Strathisla Distillery and do a little shopping. We got to know this distillery during our trip 2013 and came to love the whisky ... some kind of Austrian-Scottish lovestory ... ;-)
I think the shopkeeper was a little bit surprised by our shopping ... besides some special packaging for some special whiskies (Strathisla 19 years, cask strength ... ) he equiped us with lots of goodies from the shop ... ;-). Somehow we've managed it to get everything into the trunk (glad we got a transit) whereby our payload was more whiksy than foodstuffs ... ;-)
Our next goal was Stonehaven, which we tried to reach without driving to much on the big roads. That led us through beautiful landscapes and little villages, but didn't offer much chance to take pictures, as the weather was bad once again. After we reached Stonehaven or more precise the parking lot by the Dunnotar Castle ruins (an impressive ruin with great history attached to it) we had to wait in the car because of the rain and hope for better weather. After a quick change in the weather we were lucky to see a rainbow right over Dunnotar Castle ... but was too late for us to visit the castle, as it was closed by then.
The following search for a B&B was more complicated than we were used to, as there was somekind of event in Aberdeen and the whole area surrounding it was fully booked. In the middle of nowhere (I think it was in Inverbervie) we finally found „something" (the owner was a little bit surprised that we found her and had to prepare the room first – and we where told that she couldn't offer breakfast too ...).
