Report - Trierenberg Super Circuit 2019

Written by Manuel Faessler
Hi folks,

after I haven’t participated in any photography contests last year I’ve decided to participate in only one this year: the Trierenberg Super Circuit 2019 (http://www.supercircuit.at/). In my opinion this is one of the best contests out there, especially because it is not so much about the results as about the pictures.

I have competed for almost 25 years in various sports and have made the decision that I’ve had enough. So it is a very welcome change to take part in competition that isn’t really one. As in arts a jury is more or less damned to be subjective, I find it a little bit odd to make a competition out of it ... or as Béla Bartók put it: “Competitions are for horses, not artists.”

No matter what I think about it, it was a very successful contest for me. My pictures were accepted 28 times (out of possible 32) and in addition to that two of the pics (Todays rain is tomorrows whisky&Watching you) are included in the contests book (which contains about 2000 of the best pics from about 30.500 that participated).

A little announcement: On September 16th 2019 there are two multimedia-shows (starting at 18:00 and 20:15) in the Festspielhaus Bregenz where during the course of two hours a selection of the best pics from the Super Circuit are shown. If you want to meet me, I’ll most certainly be there at the second date.

That’s it from me ... if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to aske ... either here as comment, or via e-mail to iThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Cheers,
Manuel
